20th C American artist Ada Chalfant Robinson (1897-1982)


Painted before 1930 by listed California artist Ada Chalfant Robinson. See Arts and Artists in Southern California before 1930, page 211.

Born in Kentucky on Dec. 13, 1897. Robinson settled in Los Angeles in the 1920s. She studied there at the Otis Art Institute under Vysekal, Shrader, and Holmes. After a tour of Europe, she returned to Los Angeles and was active in the local art scene into the 1930s. She died there on March 25, 1982.

The owner, Tom Reggiardo, has been in the antiques trade for more than 30 years. He is a member of the Antiques Dealers Association of California, which was founded in 1924 and whose members pledge "integrity and fairness in the buying and selling of antiques."
