18th C - circa 1790 - Northern Italian - Milanese - Neoclassic walnut commode in the style of Guiseppe Maggiolini.

Walnut, fruitwoods, and yew marquetry with dark composition inlays (intarso) resembling ebony inlays. Naive figurative groupings reminiscent of two-dimensional Greco-Roman mosaics.


Exception floral, vine, and urn marquetry work.

Good color. Sturdy and functional.

Repairs to veneers. Refinished and polished.
