18th C Italian Neoclassic walnut side chairs

18th C. - circa 1790 - Italian Neoclassic walnut side chairs - set of 6 matched with good details.

Very intricately carved backs. Fully upholstered seats.

Numerous competent repairs, including tightening. Substantial glue to corner blocks (added later) in all frames make these early chairs very usable. Extensive, now inactive, worming has been filled and stabilized. Old covers and seat supports need redoing.

Three chairs have received most of the repairs listed above - the other three are in very good condition.

Short backs make chairs appear smaller than they actually are.

Dimensions in inches - width, depth, height - 19 x 17 x 33, seats at 19
