19th C - circa 1880 - Japanese jardiniere. Bronze champleve. Honorific Ming mark. Bold lion's head ringed handle. Good deep, dark patina.

Champleve: A technique of decorating metal in which areas that have been hollowed out, as by incising, are filled with colored enamel and fired.
